Massaro Properties Recent Deals
October 2007 - Massaro Properties recently completed two transactions totaling 65,300 square feet. Trau & Loevner, a local manufacturer that imprints and distributes licensed and fashion screen-printed products, hired Massaro Properties to identify available warehouse facilities for sale on the east side of Pittsburgh. Trau & Loevner’s goal was to move their distribution center from Baum Boulevard to a new location within close proximity to their current printing center located on Centre Avenue in East Liberty. After researching the market, Martha Graham, Massaro Properties’ broker representing Trau & Loevner, identified several locations that would be suitable, and then narrowed it down to a site not too far from their existing printing facility. A 62,000 square foot warehouse, located at 830-878 Braddock Avenue, was determined to be ideal for their use. This single-story facility will provide a more efficient and effective working environment than the three-story building previously occupied. Trau & Loevner purchased the building from A.J. Silberman on 10-15-07 and plan to relocate their warehousing and distribution operations to their new facility by the end of the year.
Massaro was also hired to represent YouthWorks in locating new office space. YouthWorks is a non-profit organization that helps young people pursue employment and career development opportunities. Massaro represented YouthWorks in the leasing of 3,300 square feet at the Arrott Building located at 401 Wood Street, in Pittsburgh’s Central Business District. The new space is more cost effective for this non-profit organization and provides a kitchen, offices and an open space for programs, training and conferencing. They relocated from their office at 2934 Smallman Street in the Strip District to their new space on October 1, 2007.
