CREW Awards Massaro Properties

December 2007 - At a recent luncheon, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Pittsburgh honored Massaro Properties with the Supporter of Women in Commercial Real Estate award. Each year CREW recognizes a company or person who has shown outstanding involvement in, and exemplary support of, the advancement of women in commercial real estate.

This year, Massaro was approached by CREW Pittsburgh to use the Try-Street Terminal/Shannon Hall project to host the first CREW Career Day. The Career Day program teaches young women about opportunities available to women in commercial real estate. The committee wanted to hold the program in a building that was under construction, providing the students with a way to hear and see how each of the professions is involved in the different phases of construction. When asked about the possibility of using the Try-Street Terminal building, Massaro was excited about the opportunity and agreed to help make the first CREW Career program in Pittsburgh a success. Once Massaro became involved, Kevin Nestor, the project manager, and Brian DiDiano, the project engineer worked countless hours helping in the planning of the event. Massaro provided the volunteers and attendees with hardhats and arranged meetings with the women who were involved in the Try-Street Terminal project to talk about their careers. Massaro was pleased to be able to provide the venue and leadership to assist making this event a success.
